Ohman Family Living at Briar receives proclamation from Mayor and Council

Middlefield Mayor Ben Garlich presented Anderson Ohman, of Ohman Family Living (OFL) at Briar with a proclamation at the regular council meeting on Jan. 13, 2022.

“The Ohman Family truly love this community and show it by continually by investing in expansions and improvements that add value to our community, said Mayor Garlich.

PROCLAMATION OF RECOGNITION TO

Ohman Family Living at Briar

 

WHEREAS, Ohman Family Living was founded by brothers George and Charles Ohman near Middlefield, Ohio when they were first introduced to the field of long-term care in 1964; and

WHEREAS, First Generation Ohman’s established a small nine-bed nursing home near Middlefield, it was an extension of care being provided to George Sr.’s brother; and

WHEREAS, The first phase started with the purchase of a modest three bedroom ranch style home which was named Holly Hill housed nine residents; and

WHEREAS, When Holly Hill home was outgrown, Holly Hill, Newbury was re-established in 1967 which included the family home and a 40 bed nursing facility; and,

WHEREAS, The current Ohman Family Living at Briar facility in Middlefield Village has continued to expand to the current 10 acre campus today; and,

WHEREAS, The current campus includes a new, state-of-the-art transitional care unit with 24 private rooms, a therapy gym, and separate dining for short term rehab patients; and

WHEREAS, With the most recent expansion investment Ohman Family Living at Briar is capable of providing all levels of care from independent living to long-term care; and

WHEREAS, it is the desire of  Mayor, Ben Garlich and Council members, Scott Klein, Kaitlyn Arganti, Bill Blue, Carl Hornung, Sam Morrow, and Rick Seyer to recognize Ohman Family Living at Briar for their commitment and support to the Village of Middlefield through their investment and beautification of the property as well as their commitment to be a model of senior living by providing superior service and the latest in patient care so patients and residents can thrive.

NOW, THEREFORE, I BEN GARLICH, Mayor of the Village of Middlefield, do hereby recognize and extend warmest appreciation to Ohman Family Living, for their outstanding commitment to quality care and being a contributing family-owned business to the local community for all these years.
